LeveledReader.com was founded in 2007 by owner Tonya Nielsen who was inspired by her family’s fundamental belief in the importance of literacy to raise independent thinkers. Her beloved, fun-loving beagle, Lily, provided the motivation for the company motto - Launching Independent Literate Youth (LILY).

LeveledReader has recently restructured and is now expanding. This includes the addition of staff to the management team and improved book availability. And most of all, a renewed commitment to providing quality, engaging books representing the stories of all children.
